The big change from last year is that for 2017 the Lanark County time trial series is now part of the OBC time trial program. The first in this series for 2017 was held June 6 on the Clayton Road course. Details of the scheduling of the Lanark series can be found in the calendar on the OBC website (ottawabicycleclub.ca). Seven riders started and finished. Despite cool conditions (10C) with gusty easterlies prior to the start, it was calm on the course with clearing skies during the event. Fastest on the night was Mike Nash. Young rider Chad Dempsey has returned to do time trials for a second year. Three riders, Pamela Ross, Ron Ross, and Brendon Gorman did the course for the first time. Scott Smithson was welcomed back to time trialling after an 8 year hiatus.
The next Time Trial will be on June 13 starting at 7:00 pm with sign in starting at 6:30pm.
The first 40 km Time Trial is on June 18th, meeting at Franktown at the Christian Academy School Parking lot at 7:45am for sign-in with the watch starting at 8:15am. Please contact Les Humphreys (613 256 2498 or leshum@magma.ca ) before the 18th if you intend to ride this time trial.
